Caribbean Cement Company signed a memorandum of understanding on March 16 with its parent company, Trinidad Cement Ltd., agreeing to terminate an operating lease agreement for its plant in Kingston, Jamaica, reported The Gleaner.

Cemex Operates Plants by Remote Control With C3 System

Cemex announced that it is the first company in the cement industry to successfully operate plants by remote control. From its central location in Monterrey, Mexico, the company’s Centro de Control Cemento (C3) system operates in real time and tracks live data of 14 cement plants, 25 kilns and 86 grinding mills in Mexico, coupled with a facility in Colombia and another in the United States.

WHC Awards Cemex Gold Certification for Biodiversity Action Plan

Cemex announced that the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) granted Gold Certification for the company’s Las Salinas and Laguna Cabral Biodiversity Action Plan in the Dominican Republic. The project is led by Cemex in collaboration with Grupo Jaragua and Birdlife International.
