Mississippi Lime Adds High Reactivity Hydrated Lime Capability

Mississippi Lime Co., a leading producer of high calcium quicklime, hydrated lime and calcium carbonate, announced that it will add capability to produce High Reactivity Hydrated Lime (HRH) at its Weirton, W.Va., facility.

HRH is a leading product in the Dry Sorbent Injection industry for control of acidic gases at coal-fired boilers and other industrial processes that generate acidic gases as a byproduct.

Since HRH’s introduction in 2013, the enhanced hydrated lime has provided customers the opportunity for higher performance and cost savings for controlling emissions such as sulfuric acid mist, hydrochloric acid and sulfur dioxide.

Mississippi Lime also offers HRH from its Ste Genevieve, Mo., Verona, Ky., and Chester, S.C., operations.  When coupled with an AbSensor probe from Breen Energy Solutions, a Mississippi Lime subsidiary, customers will have high-performing hydrated lime along with the industry standard for measuring performance of a dry sorbent injection system.

Mississippi Lime has been providing the nation with high-calcium lime products for more than a century.  The company has built a reputation not only on quality of lime, but technical expertise, commitment to research and development, and a tradition of customer service.

By utilizing one of the highest purity limestone reserves available, MLC has become the most diversified producer of high-calcium quicklime, hydrated lime and calcium carbonate products in North America.
