US Cement Receives Final Air Permit for Georgia Plant

US Cement LLC was issued its Air Construction Permit from the Georgia Department of Environmental Protection for a planned portland cement manufacturing plant in Perry, Ga. The permit allows construction to begin on the plant, which will produce 1.2 million tons of cement per year while operating under the strictest of environmental standards.

“We are excited about US Cement’s state-of-the-art facility and the many quality jobs it will bring to Houston County. The County Commissioners wish to thank Angie Gheesling, executive director of the Development Authority of Houston County and the Authority Board Members for their hard work in securing this company location,” said Houston County Commission Chairman Tommy Stalnaker.

Upon completion, the US Cement plant will employ more than 100 people in the Houston County, Ga., area.
