Four Holcim plants receive EPA’s 2011 Energy Star

Holcim (US) Inc. announced that four of its plants have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) prestigious Energy Star. The plants are: Ste. Genevieve in Bloomsdale, Mo.; Holly Hill in Holly Hill, S.C.; Portland in Florence, Colo.; and Devil’s Slide in Morgan, Utah.

The 2011 Energy Star designation is the second for both the Holly Hill and Ste. Genevieve plants. The Portland plant was awarded for the first time, and Devil’s Slide received its fourth consecutive award. “Once again, we are pleased that the EPA has recognized Holcim’s continued commitment to environmentally sound practices with the Energy Star Awards,” said Bernard Terver, president and chief executive officer of Holcim (US). “At Holcim, protecting the environment is a priority, and these awards reflect the efforts of every Holcim employee to maintain that commitment.”
