Level Sensor

BinMaster Level Controls introduces a newly designed weight-and-cable, “bob”-style SmartBob-TS1 continuous level sensor with a sealed electronics compartment to meet the challenges of dusty environments.

This continuous level measurement and inventory monitoring sensor is designed to prevent the ingression of dust into the electronics cavity of the sensor to protect critical components and enhance durability. The SmartBob-TS1 is proven accurate and reliable in applications when the sensor is used to measure powders or granular materials in bins, tanks, and silos where high levels of dust are present, especially after the filling operation.

The newly designed SmartBob-TS1 can be used for bins, tanks or silos up to 60-ft tall in any type of operation that needs to monitor inventories of bulk solids or powders. It is suitable for feed and milling operations, food processing, grain bins, cement and sand silos, or chemical and pharmaceutical processing facilities. With the use of a sphere float bob, the SmartBob-TS1 can also be used in a variety of liquid and slurry applications. It offers a variety of communication options, including an optional built-in 900-MHz wireless modem, ZigBee compatibility, RS-485 communications, and 4-20 mA output to a PLC (programmable logic controller) or HMI (human machine interface). Individual bin measurements can be sent to the eBob PC software or a control console where measurements can be displayed as distance to product, height of product, and percent full.

As part of BinMaster’s SmartBob inventory management system, the SmartBob-TS1 is compatible with eBob software that allows for measuring and monitoring bins from a PC as well as the C-100 control console that displays bin level data conveniently at the base of the bins. With the optional built-in wireless option and ZigBee compatibility, the TS1 can simplify installation and reduce wiring costs, making it a cost effective solution for operations that need to measure and monitor multiple bins quickly without the hassle of climbing tanks.
